Gérard Thevenot, the founder of Helite, has been working as an entrepreneur and designer since 1975. His first venture was a company called La Mouette, which designed and sold hang gliders. Gérard, detected a high number of accidents that occurred in hang gliding, this prompted him to design a protection system for pilots.
